Justine is a character in the AMC+ animated drama, Pantheon. She is portrayed by Maude Apatow.
Justine is Maddie's new friend.
Biography[]
Befriending Maddie[]
When Maddie Kim needed a ride to the mall to meet up with someone, she offers Justine money to drive her. Once they reach the food court, she tells Maddie she will not be held responsible if the other girl is trafficked. Maddie meets up with her contact, Cody Lowell, as Justine eats free samples. When Queen's “You’re My Best Friend” plays over the loudspeakers and everyone’s phones, she looks at her phone in confusion.
Later that week, Justine is having lunch with Maddie as Maddie describes her parent's troubled relationship and Justine gives her her condolences and says it will be easier once they divorce, much to Maddie's anger. When Maddie says she is going to parent trap her parents, Justine reveals she never heard of any of the movie.
Unwilling In-between[]
A few days later, Maddie arrives at her house to ask to use her phone, as she gave Caspian Keyes her phone to keep their call private. Justine relents as it starts ringing and Maddie offers to get her cookies. She hands Maddie the phone and pats her on the head.
A few days later, Justine gets a call from Caspian as she is smoking marijuana. She has Maddie join in and, refusing to get off the line, listens in. She is shocked when Caspian says his father was shot. Later that afternoon, she goes to Maddie's house and says she wants to know what is going on, but respects her privacy and says she will be there to listen not matter what.
Learning of UIs[]
A few weeks later, Justine runs into Maddie buying multiple bags of ice she tells Justine to leave town. Justine finally demands to know what is going on and Maddie tells her about Uploaded Intelligence. Justine does not believe Maddie, but drives her home. After seeing the server in Maddie’s basement and watches Maddie’s reaction to talking to her father, she starts to believe Maddie.

Justine is a teenager with a heavy build, shoulder length light brown hair, and dark brown eyes. When not in school, she often wears sweatshirts and baggy clothes.
Personality[]
Justine is smart and cynical, offering to write papers for money. She is also a loyal friend, sticking by Maddie’s side even when things get crazy.
Relationships[]
Maddie Kim[]
Justine was initially approached by Maddie to accompany her to a sketchy meeting as she, Maddie, needed protection. She's offered some money by Maddie but goes along mostly because she's curious. Justine waits in the background, silently watching over Maddie during her meeting. In The Gods Will Not Be Chained Maddie comes to her doorstep and begs to use her phone in order to call Caspian, claiming Maddie is her only friend. In her appearance at You Must Be Caspian, she visits Maddie and sits down with her. Attempting to comfort Maddie and claims she'll be there to help out if Maddie needs her. This shows Justine beginning to cherish Maddie as a true friend, one who will support Maddie throughout her troubles. In the last episode, The Gods Will Not Be Slain, she appears for a short while and helps Maddie buy loads of ice and transports it back to Maddie's home in her car. On the drive back, Maddie explains the whole situation to Justine who is initially skeptical but upon seeing the servers housing Maddie's dad in the basement immediately changes her mind, although she expresses shock.
