MIST (an anagram of Modulated Integrated Source Temple) is a C.I. made from the code of David Kim and Laurie Lowell after Caspian Keyes finds a cure for the flaw.
Biography[]
After a conversation with Maddie Kim, Caspian is inspired by what she said about other people and gets a new idea on how to make the cure. After taking samples of code from Maddie’s father and Laurie Lowell, he succeeds in cracking Integrity.
After informing Maddie, she joins him, Julius Pope, Anssi, and a guard in curing her father. The cure works, but David's source code is deleted when Pope and the others double cross the teenagers and lock them in the room as they take the cure to the cryogenically preserved brain of Stephen Holstrom. After uploading and curing Hostrom, he orders for Caspian and Maddie to be killed as he examines the cure. However, the cure reaches out to Maddie and Caspian, freeing them and they take the cure back before fleeing with the help of Cary Duvall. As Maddie and Caspian fly to Washington, D.C., Maddie speaks with the cure and is shocked when she says she is Maddie’s sister. Maddie is disturbed as Caspian tries to theorize how this happened. After he compares it to a tumor, Maddie wants to destroy it, but Caspian stops her as they are unable to make another cure.
Appearance[]
Originally, MIST appeared as a floating blue diamond. After requesting a body, Maddie made her one out of a rice cooker, adding four spider like legs and a tablet for a face.
Eventually, MIST gained a more human appearance, resembling a teenage girl with blue hair reaching her waist and matching eyes. She wore a sleeveless white shirt and gray pants.
Personality[]
MIST is generally helpful and polite, however she can be stubborn at times. Originally lacking an understanding of humanity, she gained a slightly better understanding of them in the years she spent helping Maddie raise her son.
