Dr. Olivia Evans is a member of MI6 and the British Uploaded Intelligence.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Olivia spent her adult life researching the possibility of uploaded intelligence. However, her findings were criticized by Farhad Karimi. When blueprints for the upload process were leaked, she volunteered for the procedure. At first, she spent her time stopping cyber attacks. Eventually, she learned Farhad chose to upload when Iran gained the blueprints.
The two enemies would become friends and eventually lovers. However, they soon learned about the flaw.
Meeting Caspian[]
When information on Caspian Keyes is leaked to MI6, Olivia is briefed on the matter. Upon learning MI6 knew of a cure for the flaw for a week, she is furious when her handler tells her. Her handler said the information had to be verified and reveals that the other cyber powers were given the same information. As they question why Caspian would do that, they discuss his request to meet.
As the meeting starts, Caspian hides his and Maddie Kim's faces and voices when they meet Olivia, but she reveals she already knows who Caspian is and that his identity and act of cracking integrity have been leaked to the cyber powers and warns him that agents will be hunting him. When Caspian mentions Stephen Holstrom, Olivia mentions she revealed that intel to gain their trust. In return, Caspian gives her intel on Holstrom. At first, Olivia thinks it is just an alias for a Holstrom fan, but she is shocked to learn that Holstrom is a UI and Caspian is his clone. After asking if the cure has a limited amount of uses, Olivia requests that the cure be first administered to Iran's UI, Dr. Farhad Karimi. She explains how they bonded after uploading before becoming lovers and learning of the flaw. Maddie wants to cure Farhad as well as she feels their love story is what the world needs to hear about UI and Olivia agrees to contact him.
As Olivia and MIST discuss if the cure is finite, Olivia rejects the cure for fear of Farhad's fate. Olivia signals Farhad and they take a train to him. As the lovers rejoice, Caspian looks out the window and notices customized architecture, something that would have caused Farhad to burn out. When he asks, Holstrom arrives.
While Farhad is filled with hope that he and Olivia will be cured, Olivia and the teenagers reveal Holstrom does not have the cure as MIST reveals herself. Holstrom freezes the teenagers as they remove their virtual reality gear and try to boot back up. Olivia tries to run away with Farhad but Holstrom traps the latter. Holstrom attempts to steal the cure, but Olivia fends him off just as Maddie and Caspian return. MIST gives Olivia the cure to gain the upper hand, but their output attracts SafeSurf, and Olivia sacrifices herself to protect Farhad. Caspian frees Farhad and they, Maddie, and MIST escape in the nick of time.
Appearance[]
Olivia is a woman of English descent with long brown hair, green eyes, and a light complexion. After uploading, her attire consisted of a blue sweater over a white dress shirt, khakis, a black shoes.
Personality[]
Olivia is a curious woman, as she greatly advocated for the potential of people becoming UIs. She tends to hold grudges, as it took her a while to warm up to Farhad after learning he uploaded. She is also caring and selfless, as she refused to take the cure before Farhad and willingly sacrificed herself to keep Farhad safe from Safesurf.
