John Marcus "Scoot" McNairy is an American actor and producer. He portrays Cody Lowell and Kurt in the AMC+ animated drama, Pantheon.
Biography[]
McNairy participated in after-school theater programs in his youth. During said time in his life, he also had to go to dyslexia school for several years, describing himself as a visual learner, which attracted him to film.
In 2001, McNairy made his film debut in Wrong Numbers, which won the Audience Award at the Austin Film Festival. Since then, he's appeared in various television series and films, including Herbie: Fully Loaded, How I Met Your Mother, Murder 101, and Bones. In 2014, he landed a series regular role in the AMC Network drama Halt and Catch Fire as Gordon Clark. He remained in this role until 2017, when he joined the miniseries Godless. In 2019, McNairy portrayed the role of Tom Purcell in True Detective, for which he received critical acclaim. He also portrayed DEA Agent Walt Breslin on Netflix's Narcos: Mexico from 2018-2021.
